I bought this generator to make sure I would not have to throw out spoiled food from an extended power outage. It was a bit pricey where I bought it, but I love having a Honda engine. When you need it the most, it works! I have only used this unit twice. Once with extension cords running from outside to inside the house, and then just yesterday with Reliance Controls 31410CRK Pro/Tran 10-Circuit 30 Amp Generator Transfer Switch Kit With Transfer Switch, 10-Foot Power Cord, And Power Inlet Box For Up To 7,500-Watt Generators. The trasfer swithed worked like a charm with this unit. First power outage I used it for about an hour. The second power outage was about 2 hours. Turn on gas valve. Plug in extension to Outdoor Inlet. Set Choke to On. Switch unit on and push Start button. Wait about 20 seconds and turn choke off (Temperatures are about 70, so choke not really needed much). Go inside and start throwing the transfer switches to bring the house back to life.

My only complaint is the gas gauge. It didn't even register anything till after I had put about half a tank. Then it finally started showing that I was adding fuel. I know this will prompt me to keep it full, but I would rather it show me exactly what I have in the tank.

Other than the gas gauge, I am completely happy with this product.
